Start it Again Full Throttle vs Stop Completely

Norva’s Food For Thought…

Instead of telling myself that someday I plan to complete THAT project, I now have to give myself one of two options:

Start it Again Full Throttle or Stop Completely.

Unless you are the type of person who plans to do something in the future and ALWAYS goes back, these two opposite options are best. They have helped free me up from the guilt associated with putting everything on the back burner and making no progress toward my goals.

So, as a big fan of Law & Order, I present the case of Start it Again Full Throttle vs Stop Completely.

The first option is to Start it Again Full Throttle.

You can pick it back up and power through, putting in every possible deadline, support system, motivational speech and dangling carrot that will help you to stop procrastinating and finish the project you’ve been working on. If you need to, you can always divide the project up into smaller milestones (I usually recommend Year, Month, Week, Day). This is so each day you only need to finish a small number of tasks and fast forward month by month, you’ve done a lot! Decide you won’t stop until you’ve finished.

However, although it sounds great, it’s not always the best option in every case.

We have to recognise when It’s smart to simply walk away.
This is the second option: Stop Completely.

Not walk away for a short amount of time but walk away for good. Sometimes, if a project is not going as you want it to, it’s wiser to simply let it go and move on to something that will work out better for you. You are not a failure for walking away, I always write down what I’ve learnt from the experience and use that to inform my next journey!

Hi I’m Dr Norva Semoy Abiona, a wife and a mother of three who, over the past 25 years, has left (and most importantly thrived) after an abusive marriage ❌ and since then went back into full-time education (to Masters level) 🎓 in my late twenties and early thirties. In Addition, I had to personally survive ovarian cancer 🎗️ and a seriously ill baby (who thank God is thriving now).

So as you can see, I totally understand the challenges, overwhelm, and struggles that come with being a family-oriented and ambitious woman even after life throws you lemons 🍋.

I work with ✨ Wivepreneurs – Wives who are entrepreneurs and may be Mothers or Executives too ✨. I help them to work on finding their unique life fusion in the 5 core areas of their life; marriage, business, parenting, personal life and social life. I have personally supported 100s of women on this same journey.

I want you and all the women who join my community to know that you can ‘Have It All’ and find your work-life balance (or business-life balance as I like to call it) that works for you and your loved ones.
